What Kind of Game is The Pokémon Series?
Catch and Become Partners
With Pokémon
You can catch wild Pokémon by throwing Poké Balls at them.
After successfully catching one, they will become your reliable partner Pokémon.
In the Paldea region, not only you will encounter Pokémon that have appeared in the past series but also newly discovered Pokémon or Pokémon with regional forms that can only be found in the Paldea region.
The Pokémon you have caught or encountered during your adventure will be registered to your Pokédex.
The Pokédex
You can fill out your Pokédex not only through encountering Pokémon on your journey, but also by evolving them or hatching Pokémon Eggs.
Enjoy Pokémon Battles
You will run into wild Pokémon and may end up battling them as you walk through grassy fields or inside caves. Other Pokémon Trainers you will encounter during your adventure may also challenge you to a Pokémon battle.
You will earn Exp. Points and your Pokémon will level up as you win battles.
Type Compatibility
Each Pokémon and its move has a Type, and some moves are advantageous and some are disadvantageous depending on their compatibility. You may cause greater damage to the opposing Pokémon if you attack with an advantageous move.
Raise Your Pokémon
When Pokémon level up, they will possibly learn a new move or undergo an Evolution.
They will transform into a new form and their stats will raise once they evolve.
Some of your Pokémon may undergo Evolution by means other than leveling up, such as by using an item and on a compatible Pokémon.
